Christine Blanchard, holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Prince Edward Island (1990), a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of New Brunswick (1992) and a Master of Education, with a focus on Wind Band Conducting, from the University of Victoria (1999).  

Christine has over 20 years of teaching instrumental music and directing concert and jazz bands in the public school system.  She is currently the conductor of the Holland College Welshmen Community Concert Band.  

In addition to directing ensembles, Christine co-wrote the PEI Instrumental Music Curriculum Guide.  She also developed the curriculum and subsequently piloted the Styles of Popular Music course.  Christine also initiated the development of the PEI Senior High Honors Band and is currently chair of this organization.  Christine has adjudicated at festivals in Newfoundland and Labrador, directed the Junior High Wind Ensemble in Nova Scotia, and adjudicated and provided clinics to bands in Ontario.

Christine believes in striving for excellence in music performance and encourages her students to reach their full potential.
